Ah yes, see what you mean about serial commenting now. Sounds like you'd enjoy BMF - nice friendly bunch, and lots of variety with different instructors. You can do a free trial if you register on the website - though be warned, you have to sign up within 24 hours of your trial if you want to avoid the 50 quid joining fee.

Good luck with marathon training in the meantime. I did a couple of them a few years back, and I can still talk for England about how great the experience was. I conveniently forget about the winter training schedule of course - but it's all worth it in the end. :-)

I did watch Hastings - I was supposed to have run it too, but had a stinking cold that prevented me from doing anything more than clap pathetically from the pavement. Thinking about doing it next year, but need to overcome my dislike of hills in the interim...

Oh, by the way (i'm not a serial commenter...just on common threads!) Hastings was ok this year. Did you watch (you probably posted about it, i'll have a look tomorrow)? It was cool drizzle to start - even with my zero training and injury problems, it went nicely. It's the 25 year run next year, i'm looking for excuses not to run (it is hilly) but the lure is still there for the first 5 miles alone! It has to be done at least once...
